MYS PROJECT

Move Your Suburbs

The project aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices among grassroots organizations across different European regions, focusing on innovative sport methodologies and approaches. The goal is to introduce these outcomes to local youth communities facing challenges in peripheral suburban areas, with the aim of revitalizing these areas and integrating them back into urban life.

Two grassroots sport clubs (The Studio and Mäntyharjun Virkistys ry.) and one cultural organization (Huki) from Italy, Finland, and Croatia respectively, already engaged in educational, cultural, and welfare activities for marginalized youth, will seek to enhance the quality of their work through the mutual transmission of best practices, developing new methods and techniques to disseminate successful sport practices within their suburban youth communities (Transnational meetings).

Tailoring the different approach of each Partner to the specific needs of the own country, the partners will engage with three local stakeholders—such as schools, social centers, and cultural associations—involved in education, welfare, and support for individuals with disabilities, targeting youths aged 9 to 35 and their families in peripheral areas.

The project will test the outcomes of the best practices exchange in suburban areas to assess their potential applicability in each partner organizations’ contexts, in order to enhance the quality of their work and contribute to the improvement of urban life in these areas, ensuring lasting impact beyond the project’s funding period (Testing phase).

The consortium will realize a final ebook to disseminate and promote project results, in order to impact in the community through new sport approaches.
The project provides organizational efforts to ensure the success of the outcomes, through project management actions such as financial management, communication, monitoring and evaluation.
